Solution overview
Installing Wi-Fi in a hotel or building is now essential — both to meet the internet needs of guests and staff and to be judged a modern, well-appointed property. At the same time the Wi-Fi system must be stable, quick to connect and durable enough to serve users around the clock.
The usual Wi-Fi complaints are a weak, intermittent signal and equipment that hangs, if ordinary household units are used. Carrying a service provider's information and imagery to customers over Wi-Fi — Wi-Fi marketing — is also a growing trend. WiCell supplies optimal Wi-Fi equipment and solutions with advanced technologies and outstanding features that resolve these problems for good.
Solution highlights
Lets you configure a single network name (SSID) across every access point
Management software written for simplicity and professionalism is exactly what delivers one network name (SSID) for every access point set up in the project. That convenience lets a business present a professional Wi-Fi system and makes connecting easy for customers — and a single-SSID configuration brings plenty of other conveniences besides. One consistent name for the whole area makes it easy for customers to recognise and connect without hesitating between a dozen different network names.
Fully wireless mesh technology
Mesh technology lets the whole Wi-Fi system be installed with no network cabling at all, preserving the building's appearance, leaving the architecture intact, cutting installation costs and extending service life compared with conventional cabling — while performance and signal attenuation stay within 20%.
Interference rejection in the 5.8 GHz band
With 802.11ac/n, the most advanced standard available, internet speeds rise as far as possible by working across the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands at once. The 5.8 GHz band supports more channels and more spectrum, serving premium 802.11ac-compatible devices very well and taking load off 2.4 GHz. With automatic or manual channel selection, the installer can pick a suitable channel — creating a defence against interference from neighbouring equipment and other hazards.
Wi-Fi marketing – advertising at its most effective
Beyond its main job of receiving, carrying and broadcasting the wireless signal, Wi-Fi marketing, once enabled, brings real benefits to the user and to whoever deploys it. A business can embed images or video introducing the company, or promote its services to thousands of potential customers. In doing so, a service operator can also 'carry' partners' messages — benefiting the user while preserving their experience, leaving customers satisfied and impressed by the operator's thoughtfulness.
Smart Roaming technology as polished as mobile handover
Automatic roaming keeps users connected as they move between access points, latching onto each AP in turn for a continuous wireless experience with no break in the link — particularly well suited to fast transfers in OTT applications such as Zalo, Skype and Viber.
High power, fast speeds
With very high transmit figures backed by the 802.11ac standard, transfer speeds reach 300 Mbps to 1300 Mbps at 500 – 1000 mW of output. Powerful hardware and intelligent antenna design let the signal pass through obstacles such as thick walls and large audio systems with extremely low loss (around 0.1% of transmit power). Users' devices therefore connect well even inside a room — a world away from the Wi-Fi service on offer today.
Centralised management
The centralised controller intelligently and automatically connects to each AP and manages large numbers of them. Users set the mechanism up once for all access points through the central controller that Wicell supplies and explains directly, letting administrators manage, monitor, track and configure an installation of hundreds of access points easily, without the effort management used to take…
