A 100% wireless transmission system
Network and band selection across the 4.9 GHz to 5.8 GHz range lets applications run stably and safely with strong interference rejection. Wicell carries the newest 802.11ac/n Wi-Fi standard at very high speeds of up to 1300 Mbps (using the UDP protocol).
Transport is entirely wireless thanks to Hybrid Wi-Fi Mesh, whose very sensitive acquisition of signal from other stations within an access point's permitted range links the whole system together flexibly, with no transport cable needed to expand it. These APs work independently yet support one another, ready to take over to assure 24/7 connectivity and limit network faults. This advanced technology keeps the whole networking process strong, stable and flexible.
Mobile-style roaming, more capable than ordinary Wi-Fi
Smart roaming is one of the greatest strengths of the Wicell system. With Wicell for Smarthome, automatic roaming means the handover between coverage zones is intelligently programmed as you move. The user's Wi-Fi connection holds at every point in the home.
Interference rejection approaching 100%
The device operates across the 4.9 – 5.8 GHz 802.11ac band, giving excellent rejection of interference on the transport link. Suppressing interference prevents control commands from acting against the user's intent.
Protected against Wi-Fi outages by a 3G backup link
Wicell for Smarthome products support a WLAN Controller Gateway with 3G connectivity for when the Wi-Fi system loses its internet link. If the connection drops, 3G activates immediately so the network keeps working and remote smart-home management holds even when you are out of the house.
