Many people blame a large floor plan or thick walls for weak Wi-Fi. In reality, weak coverage is not only about the structure of the house — it is also about installing the equipment incorrectly.
1. Reposition the access point
Avoid tucking the router into a corner. Choose a high, unobstructed spot near the centre of the house so the signal radiates evenly in every direction.
2. Pick hardware that matches the house
For a house with many rooms, favour access points with multiple antennas (two or three) or models built for wall penetration.
3. Add access points floor by floor
In a three- or four-storey house, install one access point per floor — or one per two floors — instead of relying on a single unit.
4. Measure the signal again
Use a Wi-Fi Analyzer app to measure real signal strength room by room, then decide exactly where to add or move equipment.
